"Introduction to the Jesus Prayer" was originally written in English and published in 1959 by the exiled princess of Romania after immigrating to the USA. The inspiring booklet was intended by a lay person for lay people. The author was later tonsured an Orthodox nun fulfilling what has always been the vocation of her heart and founded the first English-speaking female Monastery of the Transfiguration of Ellwood City, PA in 1967.
